Megabi Skate is a movement in Ethiopia founded by Israel deJene in 2005 as a way of empowering local kids through the medium of skateboarding.

Adapted from an original design (after a case of nefarious identity theft required a company name change and a rebrand) by my good friend Lazy Chief, my updated logo mixes skateboarding visuals with traditional colours and an adaptation of a traditional Ethiopian guardian angel. A sentiment mirrored by Israel's vision of an inspired and empowered youth that positively impact their own lives as well as the community around them.

With the project supported by Tony Hawk, my teenage self was psyched to see him rocking the t-shirt.
